Cam Patterson is a landscape architect and a watercolour painter-by-night, residing in Saskatoon. He started exploring the beauty and diversity of tree trunks while painting in the forest at Kenderdine Campus, Emma Lake.
The paintings explore the illusion of depth. Background is either deliberately eliminated, or suggested through very subtle washes. The white spaces allow the viewer's mind to wander, filling in the gaps, and creating a yin-yang effect.
